Composite Shipbuilding completes first patrol boat hull
The Vladivostok-based Composite Shipbuilding Shipyard has completed manufacturing of the vacuum infused hull of the first serial patrol boat of PACIFICO PATROL 167 (RR-167) project, the shipbuilding firm said.
"To date, the hull building has been completed using vacuum infusion process, the installation work began," said a shipyard spokesperson.
Manufacturing of patrol boats of project RR-167 is being performed at Vladivostok and St. Petersburg based shipyards. The designer of the boat is Pacific Design Bureau.
The patrol boat will feature unique performance characteristics, high reliability and seaworthiness. Maximum operational speed - up to 50 knots, length - 16.7 m, beam - 4,16 m, accommodation - 12. The vessel will be powered by MAN engines supplied to the Russian company by St. Petersburg-headquartered Marine Technology.
The construction period of one boat is four months.
The construction of a series of patrol boats kicks off the first phase of a new project implemented by Composite Shipbuilding to create in Russia the manufacturing of high-speed crafts made of composite materials, using vacuum bagging technology.
Composite Shipbuilding specializes in the construction of modern composite hull vessels, primarily, high-speed passenger catamarans and special purpose boats. In 2011, the Company successfully completed Russia's first high-speed passenger vessels made of composite materials, constructed passenger catamarans for the APEC summit in Vladivostok, 2012 (under a contract with the Primorsky Territory Administration)
