Swire Shipping launches new Asia - Australiasia service

Swire Shipping, part of the China Navigation Company, has launched a new service operating between Northeast and Southeast Asia, Seatrade Asia online reports.

The Asia-Pacific-Australasia (APA) route will call employ three 34,000dwt multipurpose vessels on a monthly basis, carrying a range of break-bulk and general cargoes, including project parcels and containers. The service will call at Incheon, Qingdao, Xingang, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Sri Racha (Thailand), Singapore, Jakarta, Papua New Guinea (Motukea or Port Moresby), Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne, Tauranga and Wellington.

‘The APA service not only provides our customers with a brand new direct link between Asia-Pacific and Australia, it also expands Swire Shipping’s coverage of the New Zealand market by increasing our frequency to five multi-purpose voyages per month between New Zealand and key markets in the Asia-Pacific region,’ said Randy Selvaratnam, regional manager for Swire Shipping in New Zealand.
