The Ust-Luga port’s ferry terminal will receive another 37 commuter electric multiple unit trains (EMU Desiro RUS) “Lastochka” (Shallow) purchased for the Sochi-2014 Olympic Games, the North-West Customs Administration said.
Since March 2012, the port terminal has received eight EMU Desiro RUS trains. The trains are delivered from Germany every month. The shipping documents are submitted in electronic form. This week, the Ust-Luga Customs officers have cleared two five-unit trains.
From Ust-Luga the trains were transported to the Metallostroy depot for final assembly. Then the trains will be tested in Shcherbinka (Moscow region). The next phase - trials at Moscow, October, North-Caucasian and Gorky railroads. The first Lastochka trains will be transporting participants and fans of the World Student Games in Kazan in 2013.
