Port Vysotsk seven-month cargo volumes down 12 percent
Cargo traffic at the Port of Vysotsk based in Leningrad region in January-July 2012 dropped 12% year-on-year to 7,273,300 tons, the statistics of Big Port St. Petersburg Authority said.
Shipment of oil products through the Vysotsk termianls decreased by 9% to 5,754,000 tons, the volume of coal and coke plummeted by 20% to 1,519,300 tons.
Port of Vysotsk is located in the Leningrad region. There are currently two stevedore companies operating at the port’s terminals: Port Vysotsky LLC and RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-II Ltd. In 2011, exports volume passing through the port totaled 13.42 million tons. In May 2012, the Russian government decided to expand the Vysotsk port including in its boundaries new territories.
