China invests RMB2.37trn in energy saving
China plans to invest RMB2.37 trillion in major energy saving projects during 2011-2015, which are expected to save an equivalent of 300m tons coal during the five years, according to a document released by the State Council on Tuesday, SinoShipNews reports. The nation has set up a goal of cutting energy consumption by 16% by 2015 compared with 2010, equivalent to 670m tons of coal. To this end the Ministry of Transport is also about to announce an incentive scheme for shipping to cut its emissions too.
