Port Vysotsky plans to handle two Panamax ships in September
LLC Port Vysotsky plans to handle two Panamax ships in September 2012, the company told PortNews. The company ready to handle such size vessels on a regular basis, the PV’s Board Chairman Oleg Filatov said.
The first Panamax ship (83,730dwt, length – 229m, beam – 32m) was handled by the stevedoring company on August 23, when the bulk of export coal was loaded onto the ship at the berth, and the rest volume (about 16,000 tons) was loaded at offshore anchorage from shuttle ships (the berths depth is not sufficient for vessels with such draft).
Works carried out by Rosmorport enabled access of Panamax size vessels to the port, the company added.
