Russia's foreign investment slides 14 percent
Foreign investments in Russia shrank by 14.7% year-on-year to $74.8bn in the first six months of 2012, RBC reports citing the Federal State Statistics Service.
Investment debt repaid amounted to $67.5bn, down 17.4% year-on-year.
Cumulative foreign capital invested in Russia climbed 6.2% to $334.7bn as of the end of June 2012. Of this total, investment debt repayable accounted for 59%, up from 57.8% in the year-earlier period, direct investments accounted for 38.5%, down from 39.5%, and portfolio investments stood at 2.5%, down from 2.7%.
Russian investments accumulated abroad reached $116.8bn, as Russians invested $69.5bn abroad, up 3.4% year-on-year.
