Ukraine seaports cargo volumes climb 1.5% to 88.02m tons

Cargo traffic at the seaports of Ukraine in January-July 2012 totaled 88.02 million tons, up 1.5% over the same period last year, the country’s statistics service said.

The seven-month volume of exported cargoes grew by 18.4% year-over-year to 54.2 million tons. Imports gained 8.7% to 9.83 million tons.

The volume of transit cargo totaled 23.18 million tons (-19%). Cargo throughput at river ports of Ukraine for the period was 3.13 million tons (-1.8%).
