Ministry of Transportation releases mandatory by-laws at the port of Azov
Russia’s Ministry of Transportation has issued a draft decree "On Approval of the By-laws at the Port of Azov."
Sailing of ships at the port of Azov and on approach channels, mooring in the waters of the sea port are performed in accordance with the general rules and regulations hereof.
The seaport is located in the mouth of the Don River from the 3151 km to the entrance light buoy number 1 Azov-Don sea channel, including the offshore anchorage number 6 and the Kalancha river branch to the stopping point of Dugino.
The vessels enter the seaport via the Azov-Don Canal, which consists of three stretches of a total length of 13.66 miles and a width of 70 meters.
The port is accessible year-round and has a permanent cargo crossing point at the state border of the Russian Federation.
The port is able to accommodate 150m-long, 20-m-wide vessels and provides towing service for vessels, except those with gross tonnage less than 500 tons and workboats and supply vessels. Since Azov is a freezing port the port provides icebreaker assistance to ships in accordance with the general rules and regulations.
