Power Machines handles heavy-lift cargo for SS Dam (photo release)
OJSC Power Machines has successfully handled the last shipment of heavy-lift cargo intended for a Russian power plant, the Company press release said. The equipment was manufactured by the company for Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam being restored after the 2009 catastrophic accident.
Heavy blocks for Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP hydroelectric generators were loaded onto the M/V Arsenal on the dock at the Sverdlovsk waterfront in St. Petersburg. The large equipment will be delivered to the destination point by sea-going and inland. The cargo is scheduled for delivery within 35 - 40 days.
Besides ten sets of oversized blocks, to date Power Machines has manufactured and shipped to Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam eight complete sets of hydroelectric turbines and generator equipment. The remaining two turbines and one generator are scheduled for completion by the end of 2012.
OJSC Power Machines was contracted to manufacture 10 hydro turbines and nine hydroelectric generators of capacity of 640 MW, and six excitation systems (one new generator and 4 excitation systems have been manufactured and installed on the hydraulic units commissioned after the power station repair in 2010).
