Evergreen to take on two feeder vessels from Costamare

The container ship market is not entirely moribund and some small deals continue to happen, with Costamare announcing that it is buying the 1997-built 2,458-teu Messini (ex. Pembroke) for $6.8m and is then chartering it on to Evergreen for 18 months at $8,100 per day, Seatrade Asia online reports.

The vessel is expected to be delivered to her charterers by 23 September 2012.

Costamare is also chartering the 1992-built, 3,351-teu Konstantina to Evergreen on a one-year charter for $7,550 a day. The vessel is expected to be delivered to her charterers in October 2012.
