CLP Power Hong Kong has received approval from the Hong Kong government for a deal to purchase natural gas from state-owned PetroChina's second east-west pipeline over the next two decades, SinoShipNews reports.
CLP Power Hong Kong is main power supplier to Kowloon, New Territories and Lantau Island and it had also proposed a LNG receiving terminal on the remote Soko Islands, in an effort to meet Hong Kong’s growing energy demands and tighter environmental standards.
