Throughput of Commercial Seaport Yuzhny (Ukraine) up 0.4% to 22.72 mln t in 2012

Throughput of the state company Commercial Seaport Yuzhny totaled 22.72 mln t in 2012, up 0.4%, year-on-year, the stevedore’s press center informs.

In the reported period the company handled 847 vessels and 197,782 open wagons.

Transshipment of ore cargo amounted to 12.011 mln t, ammonia – 3.138 mln t, carbamide – 2.178 mln t, coal – 1.393 mln t.

Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port provides all-the-year-round navigation. The port’s approach channel is 2 miles long and 14 meters deep. State company Commercial Seaport Yuzhny is the port’s stevedoring company. In 2011 the company handled 22.639 mln t of cargo.
