Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers abolishes additional 13% import duty for all goods except automobiles and fridges

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has abolished additional 13% import duty for all goods except automobiles and fridges, UNIAN cites Oksana Prodan, the Head of Entrepreneurship Council at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
However, Bogdan Danilishin, the Minister of Economic Affairs says the document will come into effect in 10 days after its publication. According to him the Cabinet approved the draft law foreseeing abolition of an additional 13% import duty.
Справка УНИАН. On 20 February 2009, the President signed the Law on Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine for Improving the Balance of Payments in Connection with Global Financial Crisis which introduced a 13% temporary (6-month) mark-up to the import duty for products not included in the "critical import" list. The Law and consequent import restrictions came into effect on 6 March 2009.
On March 17, Prime Minister of Ukraine Juliya Timoshenko said an additional duty does not meet WTO requirements incurred by Ukraine.
