Chairman of Maersk China retires

Tom Behrens-Sørensen, group executive vice president, will step down as Chairman of Maersk China after 14 years and leave the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.
His retirement comes after a 30-year career with the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.
“I would like to thank Tom for his work establishing a large network ranging from Government to local business partners,” said Group CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen. “He has been a driving force in the development of A.P. Moller - Maersk Group's activities in China with a number of important results to his credit.”
Behrens-Sørensen will assist the Group to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
"I will in future advise national and international companies, non-governmental organizations and governments about relations with Chinese society, which I believe is one of the greatest challenges of our time. This is a cause I would like to make a contribution to," said Behrens-Sørensen.
