Emirates Shipping Line plans to implement a general rate increase on the trade from the Indian Subcontinent to East Africa.
Effective April 1, the increase will be $300 per TEU, the Dubai-based carrier said in a notice to the trade.
Emirates said the rate restoration is necessary to cover a substantial increase in operational costs, and be able to offer reliable services to customers.
