In January-May 2009, Yeisk Seaport CJSC handled 493,890 tonnes (+26%, year-on-year), press center of Sovfracht – Sovmortrans Group reports. In May 2009, the company handled 110,000 tonnes (+26%, year-on-year).
In May export of grain exceeded 60,000 tonnes. Transshipment of coal totaled 150,000 tonnes in January-May 2009 including 42,300 tonnes in May.
In the reported period the port exported 10,000 cubic meters of packaged sawn timber.
Commercial seaport of Yeisk is located in the South-Eastern part of the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov. Sovfracht – Sovmortrans Group holds 53.2% of Yeisk Seaport OJSC from June 2008. RFGovernment holds over 25% of the company’s shares.
