Icebreaking assistance resumed at ports of Azov Sea
Icebreaking assistance has been resumed for vessels going to/from the ports of Rostov-on-Don, Azov and Taganrog. According to the regional correspondent of IAA PortNews, this was announced by the acting Harbour Master of port Taganrog Aleksandr Danilenko at the open meeting of the Basin Committee dedicated to the escort of vessels in Russian seaports and at the approaches to them.
Icebreaking assistance has been resumed thanks to improved weather conditions in the region. Icebreakers Kapitan Chudinov and Kapitan Moshkin are involved. They escort the convoy consisting of 16 vessels from Rostov-on-Don, 11 vessels from Azov and 3 vessels from Taganrog.
According to the source, the vessels bound for the port of Taganrog Bay will be escorted in the nearest future. Icebreaker Kapitan Demidov is currently staying in the Kerch Strait. The convoy is to consist of 18 vessels.
