RTL performs multimodal transportation of Nissan Motor Co, Ltd. equipment from Japan to Russia

RTL Group has executed the project on multimodal transportation of the equipment produced by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. that will be used for Datsun vehicles manufacturing to be started in 2014. 

The core part of the equipment was dispatched in containers dedicated for transportation of oversize cargo. Special method of fixing to the train has bean developed for each oversize item. Within the framework of this delivery RTL transported 54 standard containers and 28 container platforms – flat-tracks. Total weight of the cargo exceeded 800 t including 500 t transported in standard containers and 300 t – on flat tracks.

The company has executed customs clearing of cargo which came to port Vostochny (Primorsk Territory). The clearance procedure was smooth and took three days. Besides, the company arranged the delivery of containers by railway to Tolyatti station, where the cargo was unpacked and loaded onto motor transport. Then the equipment was delivered to the plant of AvtoVAZ OJSC (Tolyatti).

RTL personnel provided permanent consulting services to both consignee and consignor during the entire transportation process. They also were present at the railway station Tolyatti and at AvtoVAZ plant when the cargo arrived, was loaded and delivered to AvtoVAZ.

It should be noted that RTL has fulfilled all its obligations to the customers as per minimum period of cargo delivery. This project has become a record for RTL in terms of sales volume.

“In view of the developing localization of production in the Russian Federation, RTL Group sees an opportunity to develop and expand its services related to project-scale logistics similar to this multimodal project,” emphasized Marat Yarullin, Director of the Department for Sales and Business Development of RTL Group.
