In January 2014, Russian seaports handled 46.4 mln t of cargo (+1.5%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 19.9 mln t (+8.1%) including 8.5 mln t of coal (+12.5%), 3.5 mln t of containerized cargo (+6.2%), 1.0 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+11.4%), 1.2 mln t of grain (up 2.9 times). Transshipment of ferrous metal fell to 2.1 mln t (-7.0%), ore – to 0.5 mln t (-16.7%). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 26.6 mln t (-2.9%) including 16.0 mln t of crude (-6.2%), 9.3 mln t of oil products (+3.3%) and 0.96 млн mln t of liquefied gas (-10.6%).
Transshipment of export cargo increased by 3.2%, year-on-year, to 37.8 mln t, import cargo transshipment was 3.0 mln t (-8.4%), transit cargo - 3.9 mln t (+9.1%), coastal trade cargo – 1.7 mln t (-23.5%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin handled 2.8 mln t of cargo (-24.1%, year-on-year) including 2.0 mln t of dry cargo (+6.8%) and 0.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (down 2.2 times). Throughput of port Murmansk fell to 1.9 mln t (-17.8%), Arkhangelsk – to 1 mln t т (-28.8%). Throughput of port Varandey was up to 0.5 mln t (+18.0%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 16.3 mln t (-2.4%) including 6.1 mln t of dry cargo (+5.7%), 10.2 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-6.8%). The ports of Primorsk handled 4.7 mln t (-23.7%), Vysotsk - 1.2 mln t (-4.5%), Kaliningrad - 1.0 mln t (-15.7%). However, the port of Ust-Luga increased its throughput to 5.1 mln t (+20.2%), Big Port St. Petersburg – to 4.3 mln t (+10.0%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 14.0 mln t (+4.7%) including 4.4 mln t of dry cargo (+0.6%) and 9.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.7%). Port Novorossiysk handled 9.4 mln t (+2.6%), Tuapse - 1.6 mln t (+16.6%), Taman - 1.0 mln t (up 2.0 times), Rostov - 0.7 mln t (+8.2%), Azov - 0.3 mln t (+30.0%), Yeisk - 0.2 mln t (+26.5%), Kavkaz - 0.4 mln t (-34.5%), Taganrog - 0.2 mln t (-17.3%), Temryuk - 0.1 mln t (down 2.3 times).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 0.6 mln t of cargo (-10.9%) including 0.2 mln t of dry cargo (-17.6%) and 0.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-7.5%). Throughput of port Makhachkala fell by 2.5%, Astrakhan – by 30.5%.
Seaports of the Far East Basin handled 12.7 mln t of cargo (+12.7%) including 7.2 mln t of dry cargo (+17.2%) and 5.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+7.5%). Port Vostochny handled 4.7 mln t (+14.6%), Vanino - 1.9 mln t (+17.8%), Nakhodka - 1.6 mln t (+16.8%), Vladivostok - 1.3 mln t (+14.9%), De-Castri - 0.7 mln t (+39.8%). Throughput of port Prigorodnoye fell by 7.0%, Posiet – by 7.2%.
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions.
