Gladstone Ports Corporation’s (GPC) Marina has recently been accredited with Gold Anchor status by the Marine Industries Associations’ Gold Anchor Marina Rating Scheme, the company said in its press release.
Launched in 2009, the scheme ranks participating marinas with a rating, which can be compared to star ratings for guest accommodation, ranging from 3 to 5 Gold Anchors. The scheme aims to showcase those marinas that demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and assists marina users in selecting the right marina for their needs in terms of facilities, services, cleanliness and other standards, and price.
The scheme also provides participating marinas with a customer service framework and customer feedback opportunities to assist with continual improvement efforts. Business Operations Manager, Andrew Davis said the 3.5 anchor rating has provided GPC with a customer service benchmark for the ongoing development of Gladstone Marina.
“Our parklands are a recognised feature of our Marina and are rated very highly, however they are only one component of the overall rating. “GPC is committed to continually improving the facilities and services at Gladstone Marina. In fact, only last week we w elcomed the opening of Café Spinnaker within our marina precinct”. “We are working towards achieving a Gold Anchor rating of 4 to 4.5 by 2016,” Mr Davis said. Executive Officer of the Marina Industries Association, Colin Bransgrove was in Gladstone today to officially present GPC with its Gold Anchor certification.
