Construction of coal terminal in Sukhodol Bay to commence in summer 2014
The construction of the coal terminal in the Sukhodol Bay is to commence in July-September 2014. The first phase (6 mln t) is to be put into operation in July 2017, press center of Primorsk Territory Government says.
According to the statement, the construction of the second and the third phase of the terminal is scheduled on 2019-2021. The financing is to total RUB 18 bln.
The agreement on construction of a marine coal transshipment terminal in Sukhodol Bay of Primorsk Territory was signed in Moscow in late 2013. The document was signed by the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency, FSUE Rosmorport and SDS-Ugol OJSC.
The construction of additional logistic facilities will expand the opportunities for export of Russian coal to the countries of the Asia-Pacific market. Besides, it will contribute to solving the problem of insufficient port capacity, which is urgent for Russian coal producers today.
Besides, the new port will generate 700 new jobs and facilitate the development of social infrastructure.
