OSM Maritime Group lands Neste Oil deal
Norway - based OSM Maritime Group has agreed to take over Neste Shipping Fleet Management. The Neste Oil owned ship management company will now be an integrated part of OSM Maritime Group under the name of OSM Ship Management Finland, the company said in its press release.
The deal falls into OSM Maritime Group’s overall strategy of strengthening their position as a leading provider of tanker management services. OSM Finland will retain the land based staff of Neste Shipping on current terms and conditions and will welcome the approx.300 seafarers who will join OSM Maritime Group’s total of nearly 10 000 employees. The Neste Oil fleet contains tankers and tugs and have specialized Double acting tankers Mastera and Tempera among them. The crew and technical management of 11 vessels included in the deal will all be operated from Finland.
The award of the Neste Shipping contract is seen as an acknowledgement of OSM Maritime Group’s capabilities as a tanker and offshore manager and falls in line with several other important recent OSM contracts like management of Statoil’s Heidrun FSU, Ellingsen JV, and management of Shuttle tankers on the Goliat field for AET and Statoil.
–It is important to us to be recognized by Neste Oil as the preferred partner for Ship Management. Neste Oil has long been a serious and committed player in the field and we now look forward to build on their expertise in order to further build up a supplier of premium maritime services in Helsinki, says Geir Sekkesæter, CEO of OSM Maritime Group.
