Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping awards diplomas to its graduates (photo report)
On February 28, 2014, Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping held a ceremonial awarding of diplomas to the graduates of some faculties, IAA PortNews journalist reports.
The ceremony was held in the assembly hall of the University.
In his opening speech, Rector of the Universiry Sergey Baryshnikov wished the graduates to find a decent place of employment, noting that the demand in the industry is very high.
According to Tatyana Chekalova, executive secretary of the Marine Board of Saint-Petersburg Government, who also spoke at the ceremony, the decision to integrate St.-Petersburg State University of Waterway Communications (SPSUWC) and Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy (SMA) was a reasonable step.
The integration was made on September 11, 2012 in the form of affiliation of the Academy to the University.
As of today, the University is a vertically integrated industry focused scientific and educational complex. Teaching of students and cadets is realized on technical, natural-scientific and humanitarian profiles directly or indirectly connected with globalized shipping industry, shipbuilding and transport logistics.
Admiral Makarov State University is a respectful HEI for its professors and instructors, highly developed material and technical base, state-of-the-art technologies and methods to organize an educational process.
