Shipyard Oka to build multi-purpose vessel for Tuapse Commercial Seaport

Okskaya Sudoverf (Shipyard Oka) will build new multi-purpose vessel for Tuapse Commercial Seaport OJSC to replace three time-expired vessels of the port: bilge water removing, oil recovery and bunkering vessels which are to be decommissioned under the mid-term programme  for renovation of the company’s fleet in 2012-2015, TCS press center informs.

Several Russian and foreign shipyards including DAMEN participated in the tender for implementation of the project valued at RUB 240 mln.

The Russian shipyard was chosen after a deep insight into the well established production and technologies of Shipyard Oka enabling it build a modern highly-maneuverable multi-purpose vessel which can perform comprehensive servicing of vessels in the water area of port Tuapse.

The project is to be implemented in 2016.

Tuapse Commercial Seaport OJSC is the main operator at the port of Tuapse, one of Russia’s largest ports.

Okskaya Sudoverf (Shipyard Oka, based in Navashino, Nizhny Novgorod region) was founded in 1907. The modern Okskaya Shipyard OJSC was established through privatization of the state enterprise Navashino Shipyard “Oka”. The shipyard specializes in building multipurpose river and sea-going vessels. The company’s major shareholder is Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V. (UCL Holding).
