Russian Goverment supports Offshore Marintec Russia's project

Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Kirill Molodtsov on April 10, 2014 held a meeting devoted to the organization of a conference and an exhibition on shipbuilding and development of high-tech equipment Offshore Marintec Russia. The Russian Ministry of Energy, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, coordinates the work on the preparation of this event, OMR said in its press release.

In the college hall of the Russian Ministry of Energy has gathered more than 100 representatives of state authorities, ministries and associations, top managers of 75th Russian and international companies. Among the delegates were representatives of: the Russian Government, the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Federal Agency of Subsoil Use, the Federal Customs Service, the Border Service of Russia, Rosmorrechflot, RPN, Skolkovo Foundation, Rusnano, companies - Atomflot , Atomenergomash, Wintershall, Vyborg Shipyard, Gazprom, Gasflot, Rosneft, Novatek, UMC, USC, Total, TMK, Cameron, DNV GL, GE, Kvaerner, Nordic Yards, Shell, Siemens, as well as academic institutions - Krylovskiy State Scientific Center, SIC Kurchatov Institute, CRI Prometheus structural materials, etc.

During the meeting, Kirill Molodtsov focused on the strategy and development of the Arctic and State Development Programme of shipbuilding until 2030, noting that priority areas of the Arctic territories and Russia's continental shelf are basis for the conference and exhibition Offshore Marintec Russia. He also emphasized the critical importance of participation in the project for the companies and organizations involved in such a complex issue as the development of the shelf.

Vladimir Vovk, Managing Director of "Gazprom EP International," spoke about the history and the premises of the event.

Deputy General Director of CKBN "Gazprom" Dilijan Allahkverdi Mirzoyev spoke about the topical issues of the current stage of development of the Russian shelf and major technology trends that will be discussed at the conference Offshore Marintec Russia.

General Director of Restec company Igor Kirsanov informed the meeting participants about the features of the Offshore Marintec Russia and the key features of the new exhibition centre "Expoforum" in St. Petersburg. According to Igor Kirsanov, national pavilions from China, Korea and other countries will be represented at the exhibition that will provide additional opportunities to establish international contacts at the highest level.

Participants also discussed issues related to the International Competition of Scientific and innovation aimed at the development of the Arctic within the conference and exhibition Offshore Marintec Russia.

Following the meeting, it was decided to hold the meeting of the Organizing Committee in the third decade of May and submit to the Ministry of Energy of Russia recommendations and suggestions on the work on the Arctic continental shelf, to form appropriate state program until May 15.

High level of support from the Russian Government, participation of major Russian and foreign companies demonstrate that Offshore Marintec Russia will become a new effective venue to showcase modern technical solutions at all stages of development of the shelf.

Offshore Marintec Russia Conference & Exhibition will be held on 7-10 October, 2014 in St. Petersburg (Convention and Exhibition Centre Expoforum).
