EVRAZ Nakhodka Port's four-month cargo volume rises 24% to 2.82m tonnes

Cargo shipments through the terminals of EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port (EVRAZ NCSP) in January-April have totaled 2.82 million tonnes, a 24-percent growth compared to the same period a year earlier, the Company press release said.

The bulk of four-month cargo volume were coal and ferrous metals, largely from coal-mining and metallurgical enterprises of EVRAZ, – 1.5m and 1.16m tonnes, respectively.

In the reporting period there was a decline in exports of non-ferrous metals (66,000 tonnes), of coke (13,900 tonnes), timber (6,000 tonnes) and other cargoes.

According to the month-end results cargo throughput at EVRAZ NCSP rose as much as 29% in April and totaled 795,000 tonnes of different cargoes.

EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port is a major stevedore company operating at the largest Russia’s Far Eastern Port of Nakhodka, located in the eastern Gulf of Peter the Great, in Nakhodka Bay. The port is linked to the Eurasian continent through the Trans-Siberian Railway, serving the Asia-Europe-Asia trade flows. The port is able to handle up to 450 rail cars a day. Warehousing facilities area is 300,000 m2. JSC EVRAZ NCSP operates on 15 cargo berths and one facility for handling the port’s workboats, of total length of 3.5 km, which can accommodate ships with length of 230m, breadth of 32m and draft of 11 m. Currently, at least 15 ships are able dock at the port’s berths simultaneously and the port is able to handle more than 1,500 large vessels a year.
