Cargo throughput at the terminals of JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) in January-April 2014 tumbled by 32.6% on the same period a year ago, to 1,030,800 tonnes, the stevedoring company said.
In the reporting period exports volume shrank by 27.4% to 703,800 tonnes. The company reported a 17.5% decline in outbound dry cargoes (644,500 tonnes) and a 24.1% drop in general cargo shipments (511,400 tonnes).
There was a 40.9% slump in imports volume to 327,000 tonnes, while container traffic increased by 16.8% to 26,588 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is a leading stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The port is a gateway for intermodal traffic and major exports / imports flows passing through the Russian region. In 2013, cargo throughput at KSCP totaled 4,068,000 tonnes.
