Throughput of Aktau ISCP (Kazakhstan) up 6.5% to 3.73 mln t in Jan-Apr’14

In January-April 2014,  Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (Kazakhstan) handled over 3,793,000 t of cargo (+6.5%, year-on-year), the company says in its press release.

Transshipment of crude and oil products totaled 2,332,000 t, dry cargo – 1,407,000 t including 355,000 t of metal products, 141,000 t of other cargoes, 302,000 t of grain. The volume of cargo carried by ferries reached 609,000 t.

The number of calls –590 vessels.

In April, the port handled 1.022 mln t of cargo including 624,000 t of liquid bulk cargo; 84,000 t of metal products; 77,000 t of grain; 65,000 t of other cargoes. The volume of cargo carried by ferries – 172,000 t.

The number of calls in April 2014 – 153 vessels.

The Republican State Enterprise "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" operates in the port of Aktau situated on the eastern coast of the Caspian sea, the only sea port of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed for international shipping of different dry cargos, crude oil and oil products. In 2013, the company handled 10.08 mln t of cargo.
