Navigation opens at White Sea – Baltic Sea Canal (photo)

On May 21, 81^st navigation opened at the White Sea – Baltic Sea Canal, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.

The ceremony was held at Lock No 1 of the Canal.

White Sea – Baltic Sea Canal is a unique system of hydraulic engineering facilities and an essential transport artery of the region. Large-scale maintenance and reconstruction is under way at the canal today.
