FESCO Transportation Group is set to invest into the development of logistic terminals network, President and CEO of FESCO Ruslan Alikhanov said at Saint-Petersburg Economic Forum. According to him, this will contribute to the Group’s competitiveness.
“We compete with large companies like Maersk which can undertake strong competitive measures against us ... If our rivals attack us at sea we would be able to attack them at land, Alikhanov said. - ... We should be aware of our bottlenecks and invest there”. Ruslan Alikhanov noted that it is the network of terminal that makes the Group stable in competition with the leading global operators.
Under the development strategy through 2020, FESCO will develop dry container terminals. The network Khabarovsk and Vladivostok terminals can be expanded with the terminals in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Tomsk and captive terminals in Siberia and Volga region. The company is also going to change the structure of wagon fleet in favor of fitting platforms фитинговых платформ. Other promising areas for FESCO are Big Port Zarubino in Primorsk territory, development of Northern Sea Route, construction of icebreakers and purchasing of bulk carriers.
