The contract signed by in February 2013 by Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard and Gazprom Leasing CJSC on construction 10 barges for P.TransCo LLC will be executed in June with the delivery of three barges (hulls No 8, 9, 10), the shipyard’s press center says.
The delivery under the contracts is scheduled as follows: two barges – autumn 2013, eight barges – from April till June 2014. Four barges were delivered in May (May 12 - barge No 4, May 16 – barge No 5, May 24 – barges No 6 and 7), barge No 8 was launched on May 23.
The construction is supervised by Russian River Register, RRR class: М3.0 (ice10)А. The vessel is intended for operation without a crew at inland water basins of the Russian Federation.
The vessel’s characteristics: LOA- 97.49 m, breadth overall – 16.15, beam – 16.8, midships depth – 5.34 m, draft – 3.6 m, displacement – 5,280 tons, capacity – 4,300 tons. The pusher barge line is equipped with a hydraulic friction coupler of ARTICOUPLER type produced by Taisei.
This double-hulled double-bottomed non-self-propelled dry cargo barge has one hold, forecastle and aftercastle, weathertight hatchway cover of cargo hold. Project 82 barge is to be pushed by an tug-boat Project 81. In its hold it can transport general cargo, bulk cargo, timber and over-sized cargo as well as 8.5-ft containers and 9-class dangerous cargo.
Krasnoye Sormovo (Nizhni Novgorod), one of Russia's oldest shipyards, was founded in 1849. The shipyard is a part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
