Zelenodolsk shipyard lays down seventh small-size missile ship of project 21631

On May 29, OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky laid down the seventh serial ship of project 21631, small-size missile ship Orekhovo-Zuyevo, the shipyard said in a press release. The ship is designed by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau.

The small-size missile ships of Project 21631 are being constructed at the shipyard since 2010 for the Russian Navy. That is a 'river-sea' class multipurpose corvette. Ships of Project 21631 are equipped with the latest radioelectronics and gun/missile/counter-terror/antiaircraft weapons.

The corvette is intended for protection of the state’s economic zone.

The lead ship of project 21631, Grad Sviyazhsk, and the first serial ship Uglich successfully passed the state trials in 2013. Delivery certificates were signed by the State Commission in late 2013.

Tatarstan-based OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky specializes in the construction of warships and passenger high-speed vessels. The enterprise is managed by AK BARS HOLDING.
