Supply of export oil products to port Primorsk suspended because of criminal tapping of pipeline
Criminal tapping of pipeline caused the suspension of export oil products supply to port Primorsk, press center of Baltnefteprovod LLC says.
On July 22, oil product emerged at the 942nd kilometer of main product pipeline Vtorovo-Primorsk (Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad Region). The incident had been caused by criminal tapping of the pipeline, the statement says. After the signal of leak detection system, oil supply was stopped and the emergency response team of Balttransnefteprodukt LLC was sent to the site.
150 km from the pipeline, the team revealed oil product leak from an illegally connected reinforced hose.
According to preliminary estimations, some 8.5 cbm of oil product leaked.
The incident causes no danger for people or environmental situation thanks to prompt response, the statement says. Supply of oil products to port Primorsk will be resumed in the nearest time. The investigation involves law enforcement and supervision authorities.
