Yang Ming upgrades intra-Asia service
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. has upgraded its south-east Asia service and India service since August to meet the market demand, the company said in its press release.
Plan One: A new direct service from Singapore to Indonesia (SS1 service) was launched through cooperation with Advance Container Lines (Pte) Ltd, beginning on 9th August 2014. The ports of call are Singapore–Semarang–Singapore, for a round voyage of 7 days.
Plan Two: A South East Asia Service II (SEA2) was added with a Yang Ming-owned 1800TEU vessel, which is operated independently by Yang Ming, from 15 August, 2014. The calling ports rotation is Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Port Kelang and Singapore with a round voyage of 14 days.
Plan Three: Yang Ming is to upgrade the capacity of its vessels plying the West India–China line, dubbed WIN, from 31 August. WIN service is operated jointly by Yang Ming, NYK, X-press, Hapag-Lloyd and Wan Hai. The calling ports will include Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Colombo and Hong Kong. Besides WIN service, Yang Ming operates CPX service and CIX service to facilitate Indian and Pakistani customers.
