Throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port (Ukraine) up 11.1% to 13.42 mln t in Jan-July’14
In January-July 2014, Odessa Commercial Sea Port (Ukraine) handled 13.42 mln t of cargo (+11.1%, year-on-year), Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority says.
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 2.86 mln t (+23.1%), oil products - 143 mln t (up 2.1 times), oil – 171,000 t (-73.3%), chemicals – 497,000 (-8.5%).
Transshipment of dry cargo climbed by 6.9% to 4.45 mln t including 1.20 mln t of ore (-25.1%) and 2.99 mln t of grain (+40.5%).
Transshipment of packaged cargo totaled 6.1 mln t (+9.2%) including of 2.42 mln t of rolled metal (+47.7%), 3.47 mln t of containers (-4.2%) (or 240,020 TEUs (-16%).
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2013, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port fell by 5.3%, year-on-year, to 23.1 mln tonnes.
