Ust-Donetsk Port puts into operation grain transshipment complex (photo)
Ust-Donetsk Port (Azov-Don Shipping Company Group) puts into operation grain transshipment complex, the Company’s press center says.
According to Andrei Pyaterikov, Director General of Ust-Donetsk port, it took 4 months to build the complex. It comprises storage facilities for up to 5,000 t of grain, equipment for loading/unloading of motor transport, truck tipper for loading of vessels (up to 3,000 t/day in capacity), 80-tonne scales for grain carriers of up to 24 meters in length, grain quality laboratory.
Rated capacity of the complex is 90,000 t of grain per month (for direct automobile-vessel chain).
Ust-Donetsk Port CJSC and Zernista LLC earlier signed a contract for transshipment of 70,000 t of grain over the river navigation period of 2014.
Ust-Donetsk port is the largest river port in the South of Russia. It is located at the mouth of the Seversky Donets, 6 km away from the Don river, and covers the area of 39 ha. The port operates of 9 equipped berths, 1,155 m of total length. The capacity of its storage facilities is 400 thousand tonnes of cargoes.
Azov-Don Shipping Company is a transportation group set up in 2003. It integrates over 20 water transport enterprises including shipping, stevedoring, logistic and development companies. ADSC operates 73 river-sea going vessels with deadweight of up to 7,000 tonnes, 100 river going vessels with deadweight of up to 3,000 tonnes.
