United Shipbuilding Corporation to develop programme for technical upgrading of shipyards in 2014

In 2014, United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC will develop a programme for technical upgrading of shipyards, IAA PortNews reporter cites USC President Aleksei Rakhmanov, as telling journalists at the ceremonial delivery of submarine Novorossiysk to RF Navy held in Saint-Petersburg today.

According to him, the programme of technical upgrading will be developed individually for each regional shipbuilding cluster. Then it will be considered by USC Board of Directors within the three-month period.

United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
