Murmansk Commercial Seaport puts into operation first of three Vityaz cranes
On August 21, 2014, Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC put into operation the first of three Vityaz cranes designed and manufactured by Russian machine building company SMM CJSC. According to the port’s press release, the other two cranes undergo start-up and adjustment works.
The cranes will operate at berth No 14 able accept vessels with the capacity of up to 160,000 t.
Technical characteristics of Vityaz cranes: capacity in grab mode – 32 t, capacity in hook mode – up to 100 t, boom radius – 40 m.
“These cranes will let intensify handling of vessels …. and allow handling of large capacity vessels like Сapesize ships,” the statement says.
