Krasnoyarsk shipyard launches new flat-top barge of project 1960 for Yenisey River Shipping Company (photo)
Krasnoyarsk shipyard has launched yet another flat-top barge of project 1960 for Yenisey River Shipping Company, YRSC says in its press release.
The new non-self-propelled vessel (building number BP-3006) with the maximum capacity of 3,000 t is the 28th vessel built under the programme on YRSC fleet renovation. The vessel is intended for transportation of open storage cargoes (sand, timber, coal, mineral and construction materials) as well as automotive equipment, equipment and containers.
The first vessel of the project was built in 2011. The vessel costs some RUB 60 mln and involves efforts of over 60 employees.
Krasnoyarsk shipyard OJSC is an affiliated company of YRSC OJSC. It specializes in construction of shallow-draught vessels for minor rivers. Over the years the company has built nearly 3,000 ships - tugboats, dry cargo carriers and passenger ships, tankers and oil barges, barges-platforms, pontoons for river crossings, etc.
JSC Yenisey River Shipping Company was established in 1931 as a state company and incorporated in 1994. It is the major carrier of cargoes on the waterways of the Yenisey River basin. The company owns and operates about 650 vessels with total capacity of some 680,000 t. The shipping company's main shareholder is OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel.
