Unifeeder launches a weekly express service between Rotterdam and St. Petersburg
This week, Unifeeder is launching a weekly express service between Rotterdam and St. Petersburg in Russia. This means the feeder and short sea specialist is doubling the number of departures between the two port cities. With the new express service, Unifeeder will be operating a 1050 TEU and a 900 TEU vessel every week between Rotterdam and St. Petersburg, Port of Rotterdam said in its media release.
The new express service is a direct service without interim stops. The ship departs every Wednesday from Rotterdam, arriving on Saturday. Unifeeder hopes that the new service will meet the increased demand for express services to St. Petersburg. The company does not expect this service to be troubled greatly by Russia’s trade embargo on European fruit, vegetables and meat. A lot of feeder transport is transit trade from other continents. That transport can simply continue.
