Japan to supply high-tech marine equipment to Russia
Japanese companies consider the possibility of supplying marine equipment to Russia for the sector of energy saving and reduction of hazardous emissions from vessels, Japan Ship Machinery & Equipment Association Chairman Motoyoshi Nakashima said when answering the question of IAA PortNews journalist at the forth Russian-Japanese seminar ‘Сooperation in shipbuilding and ship repair’.
According to him, Japanese enterprises are especially interested in projects on the development of offshore fields in the northern seas and in shipping along the Northern Sea Route.
According to Pavel Shikhov, Deputy Director General of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, nowadays there is no serial production of equipment for operation under extremely low temperatures while Japanese manufacturers of marine equipment consider the possibility to adjust their products to such conditions.
