During the night of September 13 to 14, 2014, the crew of our vessel Epic St. Martin came to the aid and rescue of the passengers of the ferry Maharlika II, which sank in bad weather in the central Philippines, the company said in its press release.
As one of three vessels involved in the search and rescue operations, our crew was able to bring a total of 56 survivors to safety, despite the rough sea conditions that night. Sadly, two fatalities were among those taken on board our vessel. According to media reports a number of people are still missing.
