Port Indiga (Nenets autonomous region) to handle both LNG and containers

Port Indiga, which is to be built in Nenets autonomous region is expected to handle both liquefied natural gas under Pechora-LNG project and containerized cargo, IAA PortNews cites Sergei Chibisov, deputy head of the region’s administration, as saying at the 3rd Timan-Pechora & Barents Sea Oil & Gas Conference within the framework of Arctic Oil & Gas Week in Moscow.

According to him, container transshipment in the port will become possible after creation of adequate road infrastructure in the region. It will be a secondary activity for the port.

A floating LNG plant is to be located near Indiga. It is to be connected with the Pechora fields by a 300-km long pipeline.  The project investors are implemented by ALLTECH Group and Rosneft.
