Within the framework of III International Business Week in Murmansk, Murmansk Region and Statoil Russia AS signed a Memorandum of Understanding on technical and economic cooperation in polar regions. According to the press center of the regional government, the document confirming the intent of the parties to maintain cooperation in educational, cultural, environmental and social projects was signed by Marina Kovtun, Murmansk Region Governor and Svein Aage Dahl Olsen, Head of Government Relations & Public Affairs, Statoil Russia.

“Joint projects of the Norwegian oil major and Murmansk State Technical University, Murmansk Industrial College, are well known. The Memorandum signed today will enhance our interaction, especially in current situation complicated by challenging geopolitical processes. In the regional level, we permanently confirm our partnership,” Marina Kovtun said.

Svein Aage Dahl Olsen, in his turn, noted that the cooperation of the Company and the Region has been lasting for ten years.

“So, we contribute to the promotion of skills that are essential for the development of marine hydrocarbon resources. I’m glad to be able to continue this positive cooperation today, tomorrow and further on,” Svein Aage Dahl Olsen said.
