Seaport Big Port St. Petersburg's winter icebreaking period has officially kicked off in the waters and on its access channels, starting 12:00 December 26, 2014, the decree signed by the Harbour Master Alexander Volkov said.
The decision to start providing of icebreaking support to vessels making calls at the port was made due to ice formation beginning on in the Neva Bay and to low temperatures.
The Captain confirmed that the ban (in line with Regulation Oct. 20 2014) on navigation of small boats at the seaport Big Port St. Petersburg is still in effect.
