NorSea Group AS expands Statoil cooperation with new supply base contract

NorSea Group AS, owned 40% by Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA, has been awarded a supply base contract for six of seven Statoil bases along the Norwegian coast, the company said in its press release.

The contract includes storage and handling of pipes, terminal and distribution services at the supply bases in Dusavika, Rogaland, Mongstad and Ågotnes in Hordaland, Florø in Sogn and Fjordane, Kristiansund in Møre and Romsdal and Hammerfest in Finnmark.

“This is a historical contract for the NorSea Group,” says Nils P Dyvik, group CFO at Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding and chair of NorSea Group. "NorSea Group has extensive experience in optimising the logistics value chain from their bases along the coast to offshore installations at sea. We attribute being awarded the contract as a vote of confidence from Statoil and as an honour to the good results and solid performance delivered by the NorSea Group and their subsidiaries over the last few years.”

Starting 1 July 2015, the six year contract is valued at NOK 4-5 billion. The contract can be extended by two plus two years.

“The contract gives us a long-term cooperation with Statoil and outs us in a position to think long-term with regards to investments and development of our services and supply base services along the coast. Despite current low oil prices and anxiety in the market, we are optimistic”, says John E Stangeland, group CEO at NorSea Group AS.
