Loading at Russian Railways network down 0.8% to 1.22 bln t in 2014

In January-December 2014, the loading at the network of Russian Railways OJSC totaled 1.227 bln t (-0.8%, year-on-year), the company’s press center says.

In the reported period, Russian Railways loaded 315.4 mln t of coal mln t (+1.5%, year-on-year); 11.8 mln t of coke (+3%); 256.5 mln t of crude and oil products (+2.5%); 108.6 mln t of iron and manganese ore (-1.9%); 71.8 mln t of ferrous metal (+2.5%); 16.7 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (no changes); 49.2 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+4.7%); 32.2 mln t of cement (-6.3%); 38.7 mln t of timber (+8.5%); 18.2 mln t of grain (+32.3%); 141.1 mln t of construction materials (-17.1%); 19.3 mln t of non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur (-6.5%); 25.3 mln t of chemicals and soda (-3.2%); 35.5 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+4.3%).

In 2014, the company’s cargo turnover totaled 2,298.3 bln tarrif t-km (+4.6%). Cargo turnover including empty wagon run hit 2,954.2 bln t-km (+5%).

In December, the company loaded 103.1 mln t of cargo (-0.1%).

In December, the company’s cargo turnover declined by 0.6% to 198.4 bln tarrif t-km. Cargo turnover including empty wagon run declined by 0.4% to 254.9 bln t-km.
