Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 3.6% to 13.7 mln t in December’14

In December 2014, seaports of Ukraine handled 13.7 mln t of cargo (-3.6%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 4.149 mln t of cargo (30.2% of the total volume).

Private operators handled 9.553 mln t of cargo through all berths (69.7% of the total volume) including 4.930 mln t of cargo handled by private stevedoring companies through the berths of USPA (36% of the total volume).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 9.705 mln t (-7%, year-on-year), import – 1.601 mln t (+7.2%).

Transshipment of transit cargo totaled 1.814 mln t (-15.8%, year-on-year), coastal trade cargo – 582,000 (+325%).

Cargo turnover increased in the following seaports: Berdyansk (162%), Belgorod-Dnestrovsk (147%), Izmail (107%), Illichivsk (116%), Oktyabrsk (109%), Yuzhny (109%).
