The United Transport Directorate has selected the contractor to arrange the automated system for controlling of transport and passenger flows at the Kerch ferry service. According to UTD press center, the open competition announced on December 19, 2014 has been won by a consortium of IT-integrators headed by Magistral Servis LLC which signed a long-term agreement up to 2018.
The investor will bear all the development/operation/modernization costs. No budget allocations are supposed.
Under the agreement, Magistral Servis LLC is to arrange the on-line sale of travel cards as well as their sale at the ferry terminals (through POS-acquiring in particular). It is also responsible for automated batching and managing the access to accumulation yards and to loading as well as for traffic and loading optimization.
In January 2015, the responsibility for functioning of Kerch ferry service has been handed over from the United Transport Directorate to Crimean Ministry of Transport. The United Transport Directorate is still responsible for transportation of passengers with travel cards during holiday season of 2015.
